Enjoy a trip to Martha’s Vineyard, the largest island off the coast of New England and a popular spot for vacationing celebrities and recently popular for United States Presidents.  The island is famous for historic sea captain homes and mansions, charming gingerbread cottages, the nation’s oldest operating Carousel plus boutiques, galleries and world-class restaurants.

Enjoy lunch at the famous Black Dog restaurant, an afternoon ice cream at Mad Martha’s and dinner overlooking the ocean.  Spend the afternoon at the beach; there are miles of pristine beaches.  Enjoy a guided sightseeing tour on a sightseeing bus or purchase a Vineyard Transit day pass ($8 adults, $5 seniors) allowing you to travel all day between the towns and even “up island” with departures every fifteen minutes.

Then next fall when someone asks you what you did over the summer you can tell them you vacationed on Martha’s Vineyard!

6:00am – Portland, Marginal Way Park & Ride
6:30am – Biddeford, Exit 32 Park & Ride Lot
6:45am – Wells, Exit 19 Transportation Center
10:45am – Ferry sails from Woods Hole, MA – 45 minute ferry ride that does not cruise in open water
11:30am – Arrive Martha’s Vineyard “Vineyard Haven” for the day at your leisure
7:15pm – Ferry ride back to Woods Hole, MA
8:00pm – Board the bus for return home
